two possible explanations for more shares held on this board than total float:
1- Float is larger than reported.
2- Shorts are selling lots of shares they don't own--- borrowed shares- that they will have to deliver, at some point.
They obviously think they will be able to buy back shares for LESS than they are selling them for, or have sold them for previously.
That's why it is important for those on the board to lock up their shares, by putting in a sell order, at a much higher price, because then they can't be borrowed by the shorts.
