Isn't profits the reason any of us buy a stock in the first place. If you never take the opportunity to cash in then you never really obtain profits. One day you could be up 500%, next day -100%. Even for longs, I think it makes more sense to trade it up and down, you'll end up with many more shares in the end. All IMO.
