kenco, as you see that is a problem with illegal businesses existing to circumvent a legal and copyrighted product. I'm sure NYU would be concerned, as any college would. BTW, we have known for quite some time that iPod has been one of the hottest things.

campus

no one on campus, but i can tell you this. while i was "away" i went to a concert by an act, ("thievery corporation") that i had not heard of, (went because... nevermind, long story) and really enjoyed their music.....

since i'd not heard them before the concert, i owned none of their recordings. having enjoyed them i set out the next day to buy their latest CD, and found it for $16.99 at tower.

i picked it up, i looked at it, i turned it over, i looked at it, and i thought - $16.99? i can go home and buy it from iTunes for $9.99, but do i want to? so i asked my 43 year old self, "you are standing at a technological crossroad, do you want the music, or do you want the package?".

i'm not sure why i'm sharing this, other than the fact that it has something to do with what SCMI is and/or should be doing. anyway: i went home empty-handed and gave my $9.99 to apple, and have not missed the $7.00 package for one second.....
