Read the grade of the big mine's tailings. LESS THAN 1 GRAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some are implying that Ashanti was inefficient in their mining and left these great grades unmined. Ashanti was first class and most certainly did not leave much unmined that would have been profitable then or now. ALL good miners then and now do not leave very much. They blend the ore grades as they mine. They use the higher grades to sweeten up the lower grades and I suspect a cut-off would be much less than 2 grams. The object is to get as many grams out of the mine as are profitable over all. The cut-off grade is usually the mining and milling cost.
