You can bet there will be some very expensive dresses made when the silk make its commercial debut. I would not be amazed to see a monstersilk dress on the academy awards.

Given the recent nature of young women's dresses at the academy awards presentations, I would be surprised if some ambitious designer did Not use Monster Silk tm. when it becomes available.
This venue has become known for revealing fashion, and Monster Silk will be used for the sheerest most diaphanous veiling.
What many people overlook when imagining MS fabrics is that more is less.
If the fiber is twice as strong as current commercial silk (CCS) then it can be woven into a fabric with one half the material per yard and be of equal strength.
This fabric will be much more elastic than others and so can be made into an almost transparent, yet lustrous body hugging dress layer.
Alternatively, with half the weight per area, it can be made into many floating layers of translucent shimmering glory.
A MS dress, properly designed and with the right model, could rivet the eyes of every spectator and sweep whatever awards and all attention at the academy awards show.

Stowe: What about clothing companies using it as a blend?

Yes! Although the fabric will be very expensive per pound, it takes very few pounds to create MS clothing.
As a blended weave it will strengthen and support the other fibers and add a lustrous shimmer to everything from biking shorts to the worlds sexiest lingerie!

I would love to be one of the first to own a set of MS/CCS blend sheets.
