John Bordynuik CEO of JBI, Inc. indicated that gas tanks represented a very significant portion of the plastic feedstock received at their Niagara Falls, New York facility from 1/1/2011 through 12/31/2011.
Unfortunately due to New York State regulations, JBI was not allowed to cut gas tanks at this facility. Therefore JBI had to collect all gas tanks which were utilized as plastic feedstock in Canada and transport them to JBI's facility (Regional Recycling of Niagara) where the tanks were cut, shredded, and prepared for processing. The cut tanks were then shipped to the Niagara Falls, New York facility.
