It wasn't a "DISCOVERY CHANNEL piece" it was a "Daily Planet" piece.

Daily Planet is featured on "The Discovery Channel" (Canada only). It's an hour long daily show featuring everything from organic hotdogs to nuclear submarines, and lots of quirky stuff in between. It's an entertainment magazine.

I suppose the Discovery Channel piece was an elaborate photoshop job.
