As long as these companies control the energy markets via their wealth, they will continue to dictate the overall terms of energy.
In the meantime, I certainly agree that it is wise for GE to use government funds for its long-term alt energy projects.
But they certainly already have their share of influence, political and otherwise.
Somehow, it doesn't seem to me to be the American way for the government to extend a huge financial helping hand to these oligopolies, when there are fledgling small businesses already focused, exclusively, on that industry.
Many other such small companies, that is, in addition to FASC.
