Meathead, as a mod I would assume you are a "regular".. Why not take DD into your own hands and contact Tom yourself? Doing ones own DD is very important, you should never rely on others DD as it could be flawed or even made up!
It is my belief that they are looking to produce many, many, many times the amount of units than they originally planned. Significant can mean different things to different people. Perhaps those resources were not monetary, maybe they were connections, knowledge, or influence, etc.
They don't need the money to produce, they need the money to MASS Produce.
