Leading by Example
I was hired as a scheduler in the Raleigh office while an employee, Kristine was out on maternity leave. Sarah helped orient me to the position because Kristine had her baby earlier than planned. I wanted to take just a few minutes of your time to tell you what a pleasure it is to work with Sarah. She gave me the space to excel at my position, but I never felt abandoned because she was always at the other end of the phone when I called. She truly leads by example, always going the extra mile and ready to pitch in and help with daunting tasks – like getting that VA bid together for example. She was right here next to me pouring through the files, photocopying items needed.
Recently my son needed an operation, of course she approved the day off, but then she offered to let me come in early and take a longer lunch so I could go home and check on him. I can’t tell you how much that act of kindness meant to me during such a difficult time. As busy as she is, she manages to make me feel important and cared about.
I really think she is both a wonderful boss, and a wonderful person!
