I find it hard to believe that someone would come all the way from Chile to fool shareholders.

Why on earth not? It's only the cost of an air ticket and hotels. I doubt anyone actually lied. You can promise all you want, but sometimes deals fall through.

As they have done on a regular basis for MDMN for more than a decade.
