I have no love for those that sacked the Embassy, and I have not reviewed this in some time, but is it not the case that the Embassy was a plain and simple obvious tool for the subordination of free will?
I will look back on the mechanisms of the Shah's grip on power, how it was established, the role of the Embassy, and the role of the Embassy in maintaining that power.
They did let them all go in the end (thank J.E.Carter IMO for that).
