Another thing, also, there aren't a lot out there who, as VP, would know their way around the bowels of DC the way Newt does.

Of course, I don't know of any reason a sitting vice president couldn't be appointed to the Supreme Court ..... do you? (Napalitano, I mean). A new VP can always then be appointed too. Irregular? yep, but impossible? I am not sure.

And while bummer is our there pumping his ass of to save his job, there are over 90 Federal Judgeships that remain empty while the court backlogs continue to climb.
There are the more than 90 vacancies in the 858 appellate and district court judgeships.
Soon it will be warm enough that bummer will be too busy playing golf to attend to office details.

This is a vacancy rate of eleven percent of all federal lower court seats.
