The siggy came from a visit from the deer, many of the nieghbors were preparing for a brush pick-up....chainsaws were going and the noise/disruption caused the deer to come out of hiding.
It was about 10:30-11:00 am when my daughter asked, "Do those deer come to your birdbath often?"...I scrambled for the camera!
At one point, one of the deer walked up to me...within 3 ft.
I've only seen them once after. (a few days later) But they may still be living nearby, tracks in the snow next to the birdbath.
