Our son asked me about computer science a few days ago given that I'm signing him up for a few classes in it.

I told him that this was just preparation for college and that
the practice of scheduling time, taking very hard courses and
sitting in a college classroom would make it easier for when
he really does attend college. He can pursue what he wants to
later on. But he can get help from me if he needs it for math
and computer science courses right now.
