His conviction has no bearing on possible recoveries of the money. It is pretty clear all of it will not be recovered, but some could still be recovered. The good news is that it has all been written off already so any recovery would be a pleasant surprise.

actually you are wrong - this has zero impact on ERHC's claim. When Madoff went to jail, were his investor's claims suddenly void?! lol.
