Public? The SEC had the data? Really?
So the company didn't report the counterfeiting to the SEC, the DOJ or FINRA because they assumed that one of them would pick up on it from the "public availability"?

And when no action was taken by anyone 10 years ago, instead of contacting one of the agencies or alerting the media to this illegal activity, they decided to ignore it and wait to "show what they could be"? Meanwhile, they've allowed more and more shares to be counterfeited for more than a decade?

It just doesn't sound very believable, or for that matter, very prudent, to me.
