EP, PP. 'Yes' on adding gold to the portfolio insurane, excellent strategy, especially if the dollar(and other currencies) takes a hit and dives.
I think the 'hat trick', would be to buy securties in anti-terrorist defense/energy/gold that will do well in both a bull and bear market.
BTW PP, do you know what biotech index fund I am talking about that can be shorted on a down tick? I had it written down somewhere, ...but can't find it. BTW, nice to know someone who is familiar with shorting, as I never have, but would consider it under special circumstances.
