According to information published by GeckoSystems there were not any home trials until 2009 because they state:
GeckoSystems has been undertaking the world's first in-home elder care personal companion robot trials

According to Paula's DD even the one in 2009 was not a "real" home trial. She stated (and I paraphrase) "it was done in the home of a family friend". Paula goes so far as to explain that it was really "alpha trial" which I believe she was the first to ever use the "alpha trial" term. I am not aware of a spencer PR using that terminology Paula used it.
So I guess one could infer from the DD that there never have been any "real" home trials.
