Tea W/honey and lemon, or 'Lemon-stew', juice from 1-2 lemons, heated up with lots of honey.

Also had an unusual cure given by a friend of my dad's mom....1 drop of kerosene in small glass of orange-juice. (I was 'bout 5-6 yrs old.) It did seem to help.
