Stephanie -- in essence:

yes, we recognize that there are continuing, self-perpetuating negative impacts on blacks as a minority group of past (and continuing present) unlawful discrimination against blacks in our society

but the government cannot actually do anything to explicitly/disproportionately direct educational or other opportunities/resources to blacks as blacks in order to push back against and try to correct and put an end to such continuing, self-perpetuating negative impacts on blacks of past (and continuing present) discrimination, because that would (boo-hoo) be (sob!) so unfair to the non-blacks who would have received such educational or other opportunities/resources absent such measures -- which measures, broadly, are, of course, in fact the only way to directly address/attempt to actually do something about the situation

it's a beautiful thing
