Scottrade does not accept market orders on penny stocks. However you can put in a limit order which will trigger a buy at or below your designated limit price. The limit price is simply saying this is the most I want to pay for xyz stock. If the price is lower than your limit price it will be filled accordingly. As far as selling try a trailing stop price which will trigger a sale at or below your designated price. Hope this helps.

I guess I was just trying to point out as in my situation that if you have more than a "few" shares that when ATRN dropped Wednesday, during that 40 minutes of freefall, trying to get out would have been like trying to catch a falling knife.. More than likely I would have done more damage than good to my position if I had even tried and at best may have gotten a minimal "partial fill" so I just let my original faith in ATRN hold fast...
