I thought you were kidding when you said if we refresh the page , the counter will start over... So I checked it out . Funny... But I think the pumpers won't mind that.they just want to be the first ones in and the first ones out.
Couldn't they at least be more unique instead of just trying to clone Facebook? The green "Sign Up" button, the phrase "It's free and always will be", the logon form, and most of the font size & type are almost exactly like Facebook.
The site is Beta which means that it has not officially launched. They are testing it out and the counter is a portrayal of what the site might be once the results are in. I really don't believe they are trying to fool people (how would a site that has less than 100 posted photos have generated over 110,--- visits/members?). To have any legitimacy they will start the real counter once the site launches and who knows schedule contests etc. regarding new visitors/members. Not sure they can catch up with FaceBook but they have some interesting takes on social networking.
