Briefly. There are 3 main systems pursued by the US Forces.
1. GLIS - last month or so, a large order was placed and given to BE Mayers. My understanding is that LEI is not pursuing this. This GLIS system was not discussed here except for once only by another Board Member.
2. LROI - I speculate LEI is pursuing this. And the Dazer Laser Stealth was specially designed for this LROI. This is based on my understanding on the LROI requirements and the general casing design. LEI participated in the RFI.
3. OI - LEI is pursuing this and had participated in last year RFI and likely also attended the Industry Briefing. Think that's how they ended up attending last year Naval Research Lab tradeshow. The latest RFI just issued is for this OI system and in fact, I managed to notice that LEI was aware of the posting of the RFI as they reacted almost instantaneously in entering their details into the FBO system. I was overseas then and while doing some checking noticed this based on RFI posting timing.
2 and 3 not awarded yet.
Of the above 3 systems, my view is that the safer bet (our bet) is on 3. The OI system.
Frankly speaking. My view is that LEI should also pursue rigoriously Law Enforcement market which is a much safer bet.
