i agree with all your points -- we're always rolling the dice, no matter what the trade, but i just feel pretty comfortable about buying cheap insurance, i.e., TVIX at or around this level. and, i should note, most of my portfolio is still long.
as i type this, EUR/USD is hitting its lows of the session.
the bigger players maximize profits on the swings, and nothing goes up in a straight line. that's how they stay the top dogs.
