#10565 RE: jdews #10561

Then why do they bother making some of the PR announcements that they do make? It seems like the ones they make are filled with vague excuses (overwhelming demand, overloaded server, etc.) or promoting athletes that they sign but yet offer no specifics to the arrangement, length of the deal, etc.

I mean, if you're going to announce that you are overwhelmed with demand and that the initial launch caused the server to be overloaded, why wouldn't they just announce the sales figures? I mean, if all that really happened and those are justifiable reasons, wouldn't releasing actual sales figures help in their promoting the success of the company?

It's not that they don't come out with any PR announcements, it's that most of the ones they come out with seem like fluff because there are no details (and NOBODY else (cnbc for one) pays any attention to them). After all, someone went to the effort of posting that irrelevant PR announcement about Ronde Barber. It would take basically the same effort to release initial sales figures, wouldn't it?
