In this climate it is difficult when there is not a tide lifting all ships. I have always done best with a basket of miners and being invested when there is a lot of buying as there was in January.

So if you buy 6 miners, you may get 1 huge winner, 2 very good winners, 2 that do nothing and 1 stinker. That would be in a "normal" market with commodities going up. We have not been in a normal market for Juniors but it looks like things may have turned. Whether it keeps the momentum is another story.

The biggest moves in stocks are usually when the explorer is still very new and has hit really good grades and the other time the stock usually moves is when it is near production. So using those two
criteria, you can look for stocks that fit.

Steelpiston71 - GIX.TO & CT.V

Here is my 5 minute scan of each of these. You have anything further?

CT.V - Lost my post I was just working on, but this is a former producing open-pit & u/g mine in NFLD with pre-43-101 1.6M oz Au resource @ 4.54 g/5 with hight potential for another starter open-pit to recommence operations. Likely 4-5 yrs away from a re-start so will keep it on watchlist for 2-3 yrs out. ~$25M MC.

GIX.TO - $50M MC. This looks intriguing. Currently SP is running, possibly from Jan 17th PR with 105M @ 1.45g/t, though this started from 300m depth below current PEA-open-pit so will not add resources. Polymettalic Au-Ag-Cu deposit. Post-PEA. April 2011 PEA calls for NPV5% $786M @ $1200 Au/$16 Ag/$3.50 Cu with 18.1 year mine life, 1.14:1 LOM avg strip ratio between 3 open pits, $478/oz Au-equiv cash costs and 3.48M Au-Equiv oz mined LOM.

Most of the resource is in Sulphides so they will need to go through pre-feas (in process) and full feasibility most likely.
