I have a couple posters on "Ignore" and never read any of their posts, but I still receive alerts and their posts still go into my mailbox..... so what's the benefit of putting them on ignore?

Agreed. But you miss nothing putting the folks I have on ignore....on ignore. If there is a legitimate point, then I see it by those that I do not have on ignore. They are willing to grant a good point when they see one. Those I have on ignore are beyond seeing anything positive....mostly. It is the best of both worlds. You do not miss anything and don't have to see the majority of garbage.
