The question of how much equipment is needed for those stations depends, of course on the number of different sources of the video. Since there are channels from all over the country and world on those portals, I very much doubt that a single server, or even a group of servers would be sufficient to support the traffic.

And, Roku is not the only such device or service in town.

The questions you ask are insightful. Once you have performed the DD required to answer them for yourself, perhaps you would be generous enough to share with the rest of the posters on this board?
