The DEA reclassification IMO will come in Obama's second term...so it can't be used against him in the upcoming election.

Yes, it's the DEA's decision, but I believe the President can and will exert the necessary pressure on the DEA to reclassify.

Why would President Obama exert pressure on the DEA to reclassify?

So the Feds can help the states create new tax revenue opportunities that didn't exist before. (many states will become MMJ friendly after reclassification imo) By doing so, there would be less pressure on the Feds for money for Education, etc. Many states are broke, they need money to meet budgets. They cannot continue to cut services forever.
