TelVue Princeton HyperCaster IPTV Digital Broadcasters Debut at NAB 2010
New TelVue HyperCasters offer Cable and Telco companies, and professional broadcasters increased channel density and dramatic reductions in broadcast channel delivery cost for community-centric and hyperlocal programming
April 12, 2010 - (Las Vegas, NV) TelVue Corporation (OTC.BB: TEVE), the innovation leader in broadcast playback and automation solutions for Cable, Telco, Community and Hyperlocal broadcasters, today announced its new TelVue Princeton HyperCaster™ line of Internet Protocol Televison (IPTV) digital broadcasters at NAB 2010 in Las Vegas. TelVue’s new TelVue Princeton HyperCaster digital broadcasters support up to 20 pure digital, MPEG-2 or H.264 IP broadcast channels in one box, ushering in a new generation in hyperlocal broadcasting and local channel origination that realizes significant increases in channel density, in addition to dramatic reductions in channel delivery cost. See a live demo of the new TelVue Princeton HyperCaster at NAB 2010, North Hall, Booth # N6729.
"TelVue HyperCasters will change the way Cable and Telco companies, and broadcasters view and support community-centric and hyperlocal programming," said Jesse Lerman, TelVue President and CEO. "By dramatically reducing the cost and streamlining the ease of management of local origination and leased access channels, TelVue HyperCasters will enable Cable and Telco companies to leverage community-centric programming as a valued service differentiator not offered by satellite broadcast competitors."
TelVue’s HyperCasters will support for the first time:
?
20 pure digital, IP broadcast channels in one box supporting both MPEG-2 and H.264 SD/HD Transport Streams
?
Native MPEG-2 and H.264 over IP, which eliminates the cost, quality loss, and space requirements of external encoders
?
Channel Partitioning, so broadcast channels on a single server can be independently assigned and managed, with the ability to offer new private channels as a commercial offering
?
Bounded Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF), which enables interactivity within local programming
With full production units available beginning Q3'2010, TelVue HyperCasters will enable broadcasters, cable companies, and telcos to cost-effectively launch new local channels, DTV "dot" channels, converge existing leased access and local origination channels to all-digital, and offer private channels as a commercial offering. TelVue HyperCasters will support both Standard Definition and High Definition, along with EBIF support. Integrated workflow provides a full content management and scheduling application out of the box, as well as compatibility with third party traffic and middleware systems, VDCP, and a native developers API.
