Hi lostcowboy
Thanks for your reply.

The error message some VS users get when starting Vortex are something like:

"Application exception occurred: Exception number: c00000fd (stack overflow)
*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for D:\WINDOWS\system32\kernel32.dll - function: kernel32!ReleaseMutex"

System used:

Number of Processors: 2
Processor Type: x86 Family 15 Model 75 Stepping 2
Windows Version: 5.1
Current Build: 2600
Service Pack: 3

The problem seems related to the country and region settings in the registry.
So I installed English versions of XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8, but Vortex started and worked correctly on all of them.
Next I changed the registry settings to the settings of the users computer, but no error uccured.

So I'am at a loss, I'm not able to duplicate the error.

It would be interresting to know the country and regio settings of the computers the allow Vortex to start correctly.

As regards to the speedometer; in old times it normally was a broken cable, but with modern cars, maybe a malfunctioning sensor?
