PNC Financial net income, revenue falls(7:23 am ET)
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (PNC: news, chart, profile) on Wednesday said its fourth-quarter profit fell to $493 million, or 85 cents a share, from $820 million, or $1.50 a share, in the year-ago period. Excluding 30 cents a share in one-time costs for foreclosure-related expenses and a non-cash charge of 24 cents a share, the Pittsburgh lender earned $1.39 a share in the latest period, compared to $1.40 a share in the year-ago period, excluding one-time items. Revenue fell to $3.5 billion from $3.9 billion. Wall Street analysts expected PNC to earn $1.44 a share on revenue of $3.52 billion, according to a survey by FactSet Research.
