#37242 RE: Crow3 #37241

welp, crowe ...

If Raman spectroscopy is used in the cdex "tin box" it could be a formulation (or whatever it's called) they came up with themselves, not one they ripped off and are calling theirs.

For the sake of discussion, let's say they did that, Poteet came up with something that allows them to identify samples through plastic or sheet metal or cast iron for that matter. Let's say it's a brilliant application of Raman technology! The real mystery to me then is why penny wouldn't answer diddy's very simple and clear question with a "yes." You'd think they'd be very proud of their accomplishment. Only problem I'd see is another company beat them to it.

But on the other hand what if what they came up with is unreliable -- sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Then they might be more circumspect. But penny's not likely to say "the answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no."

But ... penny, the very public face of cdex on this board, refused to give diddy any answer at all, saying he's not an expert. As has been said he could ask Poteet himself and get the expert's answer and communicate it to the great unwashed on this board. I even scripted him the words he could use!

So what to make of it all?

Who knows, but it really is immaterial since even if they have the greatest possible Raman application ever developed by anyone anywhere in the world, they've come late to the party. They're well behind the development curve and totally dependent on edgy's sales skills for any new money to come in for that purpose.

So it all becomes pretty academic! At least so it seems to me, but I'm no expert.
