I saw his show live in a large recording studio in Denver where KFML was broadcasting weekly shows featuring a variety of acts. On this occasion, he had both Little Esther as she was known then and his son, Shuggie, who was under the influence of some substance that day, as he stormed off the stage in the middle of a tune not to return again. Johnny O seemed unconcerned, finished the tune and the set and left us all amazed at the showmanship of his entire production.
