I think it's a good sign that TMTA is thinking beyond the scope of LR2 in this relationship. I've always considered them a better software team than in hardware. Writing low level performance optimized code in the Cell libraries should be very similar to the CMS software they wrote to take advantage of the wide VLIW architecture in Crusoe and Efficeon (which they did rather well).

(And as a hobbyist and video gamer, I'm also excited by the prospects of getting as much performance from the PS3 as possible). :-)
