CTAM Eyes Attendance Record

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing said it expects to set a new attendance record at its annual CTAM Summit, which kicks off Sunday in Philadelphia.

Senior vice president Anne Cowan said Thursday that CTAM expects to break the attendance record of 2,900, which was set at the 2000 confab in Boston.

“We’re definitely going to break all of our records in terms of attendance. Some of it is because we’ve combined our Digital Conference with the Summit,” Cowan said, adding that the competitive business climate for cable is also helping to drive more attendees to the conference.

CTAM has folded some of the technology tracks from its former CTAM Digital conference into the CTAM Summit.

The last annual CTAM Digital conference was held in April 2004 in Los Angeles, drawing more than 1,300 attendees.

The CTAM Summit is scheduled to end the afternoon of July 26 with a general session featuring Comcast Corp. CEO Brian Roberts and Rainbow Media Holdings LLC CEO Joshua Sapan. The following day, CTAM is scheduled to hold a one-day Customer Care Committee Forum in Philadelphia, which is only open to cable companies that contribute to the CTAM Corporate Fund.

Those companies are: Adelphia Communications Corp., BendBroadband, Bresnan Communications, Bright House Networks, Buckeye CableSystem, Cable One Inc., Cablevision Systems Corp., Cebridge Connections, Charter Communications Inc., Comcast, Cox Communications Inc., Insight Communications Co. Inc., Mediacom Communications Corp. and Time Warner Cable.
