#23169 RE: jpslots #23166

I read it this way...we have submitted the filing for patent protection in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, China and Japan for our lead application that was previously submitted and granted protection in Canada in November---this pertains to this application:

http://www.wipo.int/patentscope/search/en/detail.jsf?docId=WO2011003179&recNum=1&maxRec=1&office=&prevFilter=&sortOption=&queryString=ALLNAMES%3A%28ZOUTMAN%29&tab=PCT+Biblio

We are in the process of submitting the filing for protection in the European Union, Great Britain, India, Korea, Australia and South Africa and this filing will be completed in the next few weeks.

Each of the 11 entities mentioned have to individually grant the patent applied for as Canada has done and that is what we await.

Our other 5 patent applications are behind this in the timeline.

Since we submitted our patent application thru the PCT, Ed has the option of applying for protection in any/all of the countries who are members of the PCT

Part of the strategy of filings is costs as each of these national applications costs $$ to file and maintain...

This is a great step but like justice, the wheels turn slowly :-)
