GDHI and now CAGR are working hard to prove just that!

The total value of California wine exported to China last year was $35.7 mm. The people of Philadelphia Pennsylvania drink more Ca wine on a Holiday weekend than the Chinese do all year long. he was right. Ca wine has no traction in China.

Good thing when they imported Corna Beer they were not asking you their opinion... as it represented less then .05% of the total beer sold in its first year... Wonder where it ranks in import sales today...

You have to give this stuff some time to get into the market and develop a following... just like a good wine that takes time to age... sales take time to develop as well..

Ha ha. Sure, OK. California to Smash Records as Sales Surge - Wednesday 21 December 2011

"Wine exports from California are set to smash all previous records in 2011 after a 23% surge in shipments in the first 10 months of the year.

According to the Wine Institute of California, by the end of October US wine exports – 90%-plus of them from California – had already matched the record total of US$1.14bn for the whole of last year, boosted by a weak dollar and soaring sales in China.

That represents a 23% increase on the figures for January to October 2010, on top of a 25.6% rise in export revenues for the whole of 2010.

Last year was also only the second time that exports had broken through the $1bn barrier, encouraging California’s producers to believe that they can reach their long- term target of exporting $2bn-worth of wine by 2020.

If current growth rates continue in the last two months of 2011, which represent California’s busiest trading period in the run-up to Christmas, exports for the year could top $1.4bn.

More than one-third of California’s wine exports by value are sent to the 27 member states of the European Union, but despite the debt crisis engulfing the euro zone and the recent sales decline in the crucial UK market, the weak dollar is helping to maintain producers’ competitive edge.

Meanwhile, exports to China have surged up 35% in the year to date and now account for about 5% of all exports.

And shipments to Canada have built on strong growth during 2010, bringing in about $300m of revenue in the year to date, substantially up on last year’s 12-month total of just over $240m."

According to what assumption do you think Chinese don't like wine?

You have no idea about Chinese people, they love all kind of alcohol, wine is getting popular everyday.

My first beer was on the tribe banquet when I was 8 years old. Chinese drink all kind of alcohol in banquet. And the banquet take place in many occasions like family reunion, birthday party, festival, national holidays, wending, even in after funnel ceremony. They allow kid to drink in public banquet. Whey they drink, all way says " bottom up". Chinese love to drink. And wine is new to them, but wine is also more proper to serve in the banquet for kids ,older people and women .

And business people like to settle down contract in bars while drinking wine. Night market, night club, kalaokie club, they all serve alcohol, and there are no age limit to drink it. And in traditional festivals, people buy wine for a gift to families and friends are very common.

As a Chinese, I said you are totally wrong. California Wine will be exported to China in an amzing growth rate. And if CAGR can get more channels to sale their products in China, I can says CAGR will be the best pinksheet company you will ever have.
