Does Steve Saville buy his suits on Saville [sic] Row? As to his short story and contention that, "Maybe some of the market bulls will come to their senses..but I doubt it" I offer a comment or two: I have doubts that there will be an Iraq invasion. The movie will likely come out before the war. And there's a presidential election not too far away and I have this strange notion that George Jr. might wanna keep his job. If you buy this notion, and I do, he'll twist a lotta arms to get the economy and the market in shape for his next four-year term.

Must read is right. I had not seen that one yet. Thanks for posting it. Not only is the objective different this time, regime change ( occupation ) in 91 France and Russia did not own ( or was it a long term lease I cannot remember ) a large interest in the Iraqi oil fields. They bought their interest after the Sabre rattling had been going on a while. They knew what they wee getting into. Or should have known. I am not sure how anyone can expect them to be on our side. I expect the Russians to be AGAINST us when push comes to shove.
Look at a map of the Caspian Sea and Imagine what the Kremlin must have thought when immediately after 9/11 we sent a small number of troops into Kazakistan. The Kremlin considers the oil in the Caspian sea their oil. They were developing the region to produce oil when they were the Soviet Union. Then look at how Iraq sits in relation to the Caspian Sea. *IF* as some people suggest the motive of the WhiteHouse is getting control of the Iraqi Oil fields and stationing troops in Iraq, IMO this war could spread and end up making Vietnam look like a cake walk.
