U.S. Starcom, Inc. Signs Letter of Intent to Purchase Sky Communications and Health Care Service Providers Rely on BellSouth for Transfer of Medical Records and Imaging to Remote Locations
U.S. Starcom, Inc. (OTC: USTA) announced yesterday that it has signed a Letter of Intent for the purchase of Sky Distribution, Inc. of East Meadow, New York. With $6 million in revenues in 2005, Sky Distribution also brings experience in selling pre-paid phone cards and cellular phone products to complement U.S. Starcom's overall business. BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) today announced that health care organizations are relying on the provider's flexible, managed VPN service to route medical records and imaging files between multiple patient service locations. This service provides the high bandwidth needed to move large files and permits customers to mix different access speeds and types on the same meshed network infrastructure.

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Chairman and CEO Ivan Seidenberg today urged Congress to reform the age-old cable franchise approval process that effectively delays consumer choice and price competition in the consumer video market by impeding rapid entry by market insurgents. GTC Telecom Corp. (OTCBB: GTCC), a nationwide provider of wireless, long distance and business process outsourcing (BPO) services, today reported results for the fiscal 2006 second quarter (Q2) and six months ended December 31, 2005. GTCC's Q2 results, which reflect an expected slowdown in its legacy long distance and Internet access services, confirm the rationale for the Company's strategy to pursue growth opportunities in call center services and the launch of its new "GTC Wireless" service in fiscal Q3 2006.
