And the message boards on I-HUB are for expressing opinions both pro and con and revealing the facts about a company.
While Augusta "claims" it will create all those jobs, it fails to admit that many jobs will be lost in the recreation industry along with the value of people's homes that will have their beautiful mountain views destroyed.

Augusta does not want it discussed about the loss of precious water supplies and the air pollution that will come with an open pit mine. The tailing piles could pollute the ground water with toxic minerals!
Augusta does not want it known that HY 83, a scenic route from I-10 in Tucson to Sonoita (wine country), Parker Canyon Lake and Patagona Lake will become crowded with heavy duty trucks hauling ore, equipment and supplies to the mine. Augusta does not admit the noise that this operation will create, blasting, digging, hauling. Augusta does not admit they want to build a 15 mile long water pipeline to take water from residents! This is the Coronado National Forest.

As for mining jobs, there is already a shortage of mining engineers in AZ. Oracle mining is looking for miners for their Oracle Ridge Mine that will be opening in spring. Resolution Copper will be opening a mine along with Florence Copper. Resolution is a JV with Rio Tinto and BHP and will be the largest mine in the US.

the company is moving ahead slowly in spite of the protesters... of course they will come up with anything from roads with trucks to dust to anything their hearts can conjure up.

It seems that the United States is in a bind. You have some projects that are bad and some that are good. There has to be some balance.. mining American resources.. i am for it. Bringing foreign resources to be treated and shipped off shore i am not so for...

especially when it does not add to the American economy. Another bad thing happening in this country? our Power companies are being taken over and run by foreign companies... this in my eyes is a bad thing.

I would prefer it be American or Government run.
