I know the feeling, you should have seen what I looked like drawing it. :-)

One method I like to play around with is using fan lines. Start by drawing lines from the tops and bottoms of the peaks, then keeping the angle of the lines equal. Time is the best test of all. I've done that on a few charts and then checked back on them later. The results are rather astonishing, truth be known. That's how you know when your on to something. Then its a matter of fine tuning it and building enough confidence to trade it.
