At this point I'm not remembering the exact wording of Andrew's e-mail. . . I dig it up and see what he says. . .
Just this second got a e-mail from Andrew regarding the NIJ Status and am doing a cut and paste of his e-mail below
"Not to sound like a broken record, but NIJ should be literally any minute. The last back and forth we had with them was regarding the label that is to be affixed to the back of the plate showing important data and warning information.
NIJ mistakenly believed that the material that the sample label we sent them was made out of was a deviation from a label we previously sent. The material is exactly the same, but we were forced to have a letter produced by Defense Materials Group, the company that manufactures the specialized material, stating unequivocally that the labels were identical.
Once that issue winds its way through the bureaucracy, we should be done. We have been more than cooperative with NIJ, but our patience is wearing very thin, and its coming time when we may have to consider a more aggressive approach to completing the certification process.
I really don't think that will be necessary, and I'm hoping to hear an official response before Christmas. If I hear more today, I'll keep you in the loop."
