Elmer, maybe you're right. Intel basically has the advantages of a coalition in that they have many varied divisions working together towards the same, common goals, while not having the problem of multiple independent corporations working towards their own different goals.
By the way, here are some market share numbers for AMD. Looks like they ended the year down 4%, while saving themselves from a very dismal Q3.
