That's exactly what I did. Gave all the dealers in my area a call and asked them if they did and what they charged for the service. Then base your decision on cost & reputation.

I live in a small city and the 2 online dealers I've used most, CDNNinvestments.com and budsgunshop.com, already had a couple of my local dealers listed. I just ordered, told them with dealer, then called the dealer to let them know it was coming. $25 or $30 per gun, but half the time I find a gun in the store to buy, and they waive my transfer fee, since they have to run background anyway then.
