I was not referring to the worth of the coin in current dollar terms, but to the face value of the American gold pieces that were minted in this country before Roosevelt outlawed the private ownership of gold. BTW, I own some tiny Mexican gold coins, smaller than a thin dime, and for bartering purposes you want to have lots of these smaller coins because if/when the USD hits the fan, they ain't given you no change, LOL.
