Duke, I love it. A rumor is started, perhaps by some AMDroid. It gets bounced around the rumor mill, including the Inq, the SI Matrix, and the IHub Matrix. No doubt some blogs will also repeat the rumor.

Finally, all of the links back-n-forth become "proof" that the rumor must be true! Classic example of AMDroid logic at work.

Amtran July sales to increase more than 50%

Intel customers allowed to use AMD processors
Sources in the PC industry hinted that Intel has informed its OEM customers that they are allowed to adopt AMD processors in products that are usually based on Intel CPUs. More new PCs, including Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo E and P models, based on AMD processors are expected to hit the market in 2H. Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) anticipates its 3Q revenues will grow more than 30% sequentially, as tight supply will continue throughout 2H. VIA and ULi expect their 3Q sales to rise more than 20% on quarter.
