I'd love to see some other benchmarks than linpack though, as they're known to tell little about Itanium's real world performance. If you've got SAP benchmarks for example I'd highly appreciate it if you could share them.

I'd love to see them too. We are still up to 5 months away
from the official chip release so we may have to wait longer.
The bigger next generation IPF systems from HP and SGI
may not ship until Q1 or Q2 next year.

What is interesting about the Linpack results is it shows
how much more capable Montecito is than previous IPF
and competing chips in an area the designers did little or
nothing to directly improve Montecito's performance. OTOH
the designers went to great lengths to improve performance
on commercial workloads (e.g. added multithreading, the
1 MB L2I, extra integer functionality, and Foxton clock
boosting; improved short loop branch handling, improved
L2 queuing logic for multiple outstanding transactions etc).
Maybe you should have a look at Doug's slide again. :-P
