Iran claimed to have shot an American drone down in July, and that was no big deal.

This from the Jerusalem Post, always a reliable and objective (fair and balanced?) source of mid-east news.

Whether it's a "big deal" or not depends on one's perspective - what IS a big deal imo is Iran captured this drone, which includes sophisticated equipment...guess I expected a drone would self-destroy if attacked.
The U.S. has been spying on other countries and visa versa forever, the diff now is we send unmanned drones, not manned aircraft to do the job. Recall Francis Gary Powers' and our U-2 spy plane captured while spying on the U.S.S.R in the '60s?

So far, the US Air Force has not disclosed any details about the drone downed over Iran air space.
